Candlewood Lake Club spans the towns of Brookfield and New Milford, CT. This vibrant and exclusive community offers an array of luxurious amenities and activities designed to provide a resort-like lifestyle for its members. From golf and tennis to beach access and a marina, Candlewood Lake Club ensures there is something for everyone.
Members of Candlewood Lake Club enjoy a private golf course, overseen by Head PGA professional Bryan Truszkowski. The full-service golf program includes a Pro-Shop offering a wide range of golf merchandise and clothing for all ages.
The junior golf program caters to children as young as five, with weekly lessons and the opportunity for older juniors to compete on the CLC Jr. Golf team against other clubs throughout Fairfield and Litchfield counties. Ladies' Golf takes place on Wednesday mornings and Mens' Golf on Thursday mornings, with weekend tournaments throughout the spring and summer.
The Candlewood Lake Club tennis program runs a very active season from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The program is designed to help improve your game regardless of your level, with a number of active players across various skill levels. The tennis complex consists of four lighted courts, a tennis pro shop, and a viewing area. One of the courts is also designed for pickle-ball play.
The summer program includes weekly clinics for adults, as well as weekly men's and ladies' socials. Clinics are complemented by numerous weekend social tennis events throughout the season, culminating in an end-of-season championship and awards ceremony. The club also participates in interclub socials with area country clubs.
The junior tennis development program offers weekly lessons for youths aged 5 and above as part of their summer camp experience, with one afternoon a week devoted exclusively to junior tennis play. Extra clinics and private lessons can be arranged with the head professional or assistant professional for a fee.
The Candlewood Lake Club beach facilities are available to the families of all Club members and their guests. The beach officially opens in late June and closes in late August, providing a perfect spot for summer relaxation.
The Club marina offers roughly 60 slips and a few anchorages for members who do not own or lease property with direct access to the lake. While not a full-service marina in the commercial sense, slip assignments are based on availability. The marina also supports an active kayaking group, with some kayak storage available.
Candlewood Lake Club offers a summer youth program, commonly referred to as "Group," for children, grandchildren, and overnight guests of members only. Eligibility and associated fees vary by membership type. The program for Groups 1 to 4 includes group lessons in golf, tennis, and swimming; arts and crafts; playground sports; water sports; and hiking. Special events might include music shows, talent shows, camping, cookouts, and fishing contests.
The program is overseen by a parent council consisting of seven club members appointed by the Club Board of Directors. Day-to-day activities are organized and supervised by a group director, assisted by salaried counselors. The teen group, while not having a counselor, operates under the guidance of the group director and includes instruction in golf, tennis, and swimming, as well as a counselor-in-training program (CIT).
